New results from Unisys Security Index has found that 59 percent of New Zealanders who are using mobiles do not have any form of security measure on the device. Identity theft is becoming a huge problem with the large number of individuals using smartphones to access banking services and a range of other websites that can potentially leak personal and private information to the wrong people.
The report has also found that most phones do not have a basic password or PIN that can be automatically locked to avoid individuals accessing information when the phone has been stolen or lost. This is an alarming situation and the report hopes that individuals will be more careful of their personal belongings and safety.
